Memmingen/Munich/Cannes, May 19, 2023 - The "Light-Belt" seatbelt developed by ACM Aerospace (Aircraft Cabin Modification GmbH) is celebrating its world premiere aboard the spectacular futuristic boat, THE ICON, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. The boat is a collaboration between boat manufacturer Tyde and BMW.
Just a few days ago, the luxury boat, THE ICON, was unveiled to the world during the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Developed in partnership with boat manufacturer Tyde and the BMW brand, the boat symbolizes sustainable mobility on water.
Accompanying the unveiling was the "Light-Belt" seatbelt developed by ACM Aerospace. "Our seatbelt has been designed as the lightest aircraft passenger seatbelt in the world!" says Roger Hohl, Managing Director of ACM Aerospace. "The fact that it is being installed for the first time on a novel, innovative, and sustainable luxury boat is both an honor and a delight for us," Hohl continues. Weight plays a crucial role in electromobility, whether on land, water, or in the air. ACM Aerospace has made a significant contribution to weight reduction on the boat with the implementation of this seatbelt.
The 13-seat luxury boat, THE ICON, measures 13,14 meters in length, features 360-degree rotating seats for maximum interaction among guests, and reaches a maximum speed of 30 knots. The boat is powered by high-voltage batteries from BMW i. It is worth noting that the onboard sound concept is crafted by renowned sound artist Hans Zimmer.
